There are numerous varieties of rice found across the globe however they generally fall into three categories as below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n <\/colgroup>\n\n\n\n
Long Grain Rice<\/td>\nMedium Grain Rice<\/td>\nShort Grain Rice<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Long-grain
\n rice has a slim kernel about four or five times longer than its width.
\n Typical length varies between 6 to 9 millimeters. They are light and remain
\n separated when cooked.<\/td>\n		Medium-grain
\n rice has a kernel about three times longer than its width, measuring between
\n 6 to 4 millimetres. They tend to stick together when cooked.<\/td>\n		Short-grain rice has a fat short
\n kernel with high starch content.
